In some implementations, a circuit includes a first terminal to couple with an alternating current (AC) power source and a second terminal to couple with the AC power source. The circuit includes a first diode and a second diode that are coupled in series, the first terminal being coupled to a node between the first diode and the second diode. The circuit includes a first capacitor and a second capacitor that are coupled in series, the second terminal being coupled to a node between the first capacitor and the second capacitor. The device is configured to couple an alternating current (AC) power source to a first node between the first diode and the second diode. The circuit includes a first capacitor and a second capacitor that are coupled in series, and the device is configured to couple the AC power source to a second node between the first capacitor and the second capacitor. The circuit includes one or more light emitting diode elements coupled in parallel with the first capacitor and the second capacitor, and a battery coupled in parallel with the one or more diodes.
